I have a 1992 Deville with an astro start remote car starter that sometimes will not turn over with either the key or remote. The security light is on but does not flash. If I wait a couple hours or overnight it starts right up until the next time. What would cause this?

This issue appears to be caused not by anything from the factory, but from your description is in a faulty remote start installation .

I don't know if they used one of your keys (big insurance issue if stolen) or a module to bypass the transponder anti theft system so the engine can start without a key in the ignition. Bottom line, the installer will probably deny any wrong doing, but if this unit was not installed, you would not be writing.

You need to take the car back to where you had the remote start installed and either have them fix it or have it removed and your money refunded. What is wrong, I can't tell you because we used a much better brand and never had issues.
