Cadillac Repair: 99 Cadillac Sedan Deville, fuse boxes, light fuse

Question
My car hestitates to turn over when it sits over nite or I am at work.  I just brought a new battery, and I had autozone test the starter and alternator.

Answer
Hello,

Sounds like you have a parasitic draw discharging the battery. Could be a bad cigarette lighter, glove box light staying on, whatever.

Disconnect positive battery cable. Insert a test light at the terminal with the other end to the cable.

If the test light is on, you have a draw. Remove the dome and courtesy light fuses. The reason is when you open the door, the testlight would be lighting anyway.
If the test light is still on, you need to remove each fuse at a time until test light goes out. Reinstall each fuse until you find the circuit causing the prolem in both fuse boxes.

Now, lets say the test light is off after removing the dome and cortesy light fuses with the doors closed. Install the courtesy fuse and with door closed test light only comes on with dome light fuse plugged in-doors closed.

Something in that circuit is discharging battery. Then for example you unplug the lighter and test light goes out. You have a bad lighter discharging the battery or the wiring going to it.

That is how you find the draw.
