Answer
Hello,

Yes, you have a real problem. I just responded to another person with this factory installed junk.

Everything in the car's electrical system is intergrated with the alarm as you are finding out the hard way. I quit working with these factory installed systems in 2000. I was so fed up, that I refused to service any car with a factory alarm. Parts were no longer available from one to 5 years after production. Factory schematics were wrong or at least did not match with the car I was working on.

Its unfortunate you have these issues, but trying to find a dealer tech that worked on these systems in 1994 is one challenge. The next is getting the correct schmatics, component locations and parts. If there is something burning up the module, it may be impossible to find.

The chickens have come home to roost. The factory should never been allowed to install security systems.

First, they were ineffective, gave the buyer a false sense of security and the system was obsolete when the car was purchased new. You can break a glass, climb in and out and never trigger the alarm!

You could destroy the door ripping out the door lock and never trigger the alarm. Same went with the trunk. In fact, the only time it would trigger is by opening the door!

Now you are stuck with a GM issue and as far as their concerned you should not be driving a car that old. They are in the business to sell cars!

I would love to assist you, but can't. You cannot successfully bypass this system without losing other important functions in the vehicle.

The best I can tell you is to obtain the electrical schematic for the car and either you or a good electronic tech trace the wiring down looking for an obvious wiring problem.

You might want to go to a junkyard and see if you can find another module first.
The problem you will run into is that you may find the same year and make, but not equipped with the factory alarm.

I truly wish you nothing but the best, but all I can tell you is that you are not the only person with these issues.
