my car wont start when i turn the key. i have to let the steering wheel down and move it up and down while holding the key forward.

That's not the crappy alarm. That is the crappy anti-owner VATS.

Take the car to an alarm store. They have the bypass resistors. They come extra in every alarm with remote start. Have them bypass the VATS and then install a HIDDEN starter kill switch.

Old cars are stolen quite often. Your column can be defeated in less than 30 seconds with a screwdriver to the left side of the steering column without ever touching the lock.

The reason you need the switch hidden is because the first place a thief goes for a switch is under the dash where these idiot installers put Valet (alarm shut off) switches.

locks are meant for honest people.

How would I know about these crappy columns? I have rebuilt thousands and thousands of them from theft.
