Cadillac Repair: Warped /cracked heads & valves, head gaskets, cadillac deville

I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville D'Elegance. How would I know if any of the valves are messed up or a head is warped or cracked.

i have stressed so many times, Cadillac aluminum egines cannot be overheated. For close ti 30 years (since 1982) Cadillac evidently did not care about repeat customers because there engines could never be run hot.

Here is your problem-- heads can be checked at a machine shop. What if you mill the heads, put it back together and find more problems? Or if the issue that caused it to overheat returns and blows your new head gaskets? What if the block is cracked?

You can't go with a used engine because it could be potentially junk too.

You really have a problem here. A new GM long block is about $4k installed. Even if you change the engine, is the overheating problem fixed.

Please do not ask me for the diagnoses of Cadillac engine overheating. The list is huge!

Like it or not, you have a huge problem and the options are grim.
