Answer
Hello Terrance,

I see that you did not like my timeliness, and I apologize, but I do not get paid to answer questions on this site and I do have my business I have to operate to get compensated from.

I highly suggest you bypass the (It never prevented theft- PASSKEY) A/K/A VATS before one day the car doesn't start because of this factory installed junk.

It was used from 1986-2005 on various makes and models including the Corvette. If a computer is obsolete in 3-6 months, what does that tell you about a so-called "high tech" system used for 19 years.

The PASSKEY does not use a computer chip like some believe, it is only a resistor of 14 different values. As I write this I am looking at a VATS bypass kit and 14 ignition keys with different resistors.

Look, I tell you this to make you aware this system does not work.

Got to any alarm store and get it bypassed and have a hidden kill switch installed.

If it fails (it will) the great dealer will hit you $500 to replace the special ignition lock.

Good Luck
