i have a 1978 cadillac coupe deville with factory alarm sometimes will not crank over its not the starter or ignition switch. wiring is all good. i was told its a problem with the factory alarm please help diagnose

I have some really bad news, I don't know anyone that has information that old about factory alarms, however I do not remember them being equipped with such back then. The Cadillac dealer in that era pushed Chapman alarms. Some had a lock on the outside of the car. They also had the hood lock I had to so commonly drilled out.

I do not think you will find this car was equipped with any type of factory alarm. The problem would not be intermittent.
