Cadillac Repair: Cadillac 2006 DTS key wont even go into the ignition, key way, eye glasses

My daughter parked my car in the garage last night and now this morning, my key won't even go into the ignition.  It seems as though I'm pushing against a tumbler.  I'm wondering if it is a mechanical or electronic (ie:security system) problem?

Hello,

On occasion a tumbler will drop out of place and block the keyway. This is a mechanical problem and has nothing to do with the electronic security.

You should be able to use a flashlight in the key way to physically see the drpped tumbler. This is not your daughters fault.

If you have a small screwdriver like that used for eye glasses insert it carefully and try to wiggle the tumler up and down which maybe will release it. If that does not work have a locksmith come out. No matter what, I would have locksmith replace the lock.
