Cadillac Repair: Theft System Reset, cadillac deville, vats

97 Cadillac Deville, I messed up and removed radio without unhooking battery or any other precautions, and now my car will not crank over as if starter has been totally disabled.  Rumors are removing radio activated the theft system and preventing car from cranking. Sound possible, and if so, what is procedure to reset theft system?

I am not awawre od doing such would engage the Vats. I know quite a bit about these systems and have never heardof this happening.

As for resetting the Vats I am not aware of such a reset. It either works or doesn't.

I suppose you could try the generic way that works on other systems, but no guaranty.

Turn ign on for ten min. Turn off. On 10 min off, on 10 min and off again. Try starting.
