Cadillac Repair: car wont start, warranty issue, car wont start

Question
I have a 96 cadillac eldarado. I took the key down  to the dealer and they said nothing was  wrong with the key. My ignition clicks over but it wont start. What can i do  It reads starting disable  to anti theft remove key

Answer
Hello,

Without being at the car I have no idea as to why you have that message and you may have multiple problems. I can tell you that from your description that it is not the vats anti theft system that is the direct reason that the engine will not start. If it was the key or the vats giving you problems, there is nothing that happens when you try to start the engine. No cranking, no clickin.

Do not take this car to the dealer. They charge far too much. Have the car towed to a service center.

In fact, unless it is a warranty issue, I highly recommend to take the car to a repair garage. The only other time to go toc
the dealer is with much newer cars that need computer programming.

The problem you have requires a tech to look at the car, not the key.

Good luck!
