Cadillac Repair: 88 Caddilac Deville turns over sluggish in cold, cold cranking amps, viscosity oil

Question
I hope you can help me with a desperate problem.
I plugged my caddilac in one morning after work, to a dead plug in (the extension cord was working but the outlet from my house was not)and the next day I could not start my car as it was turning over very slowly and wouldnt actually catch or fire up.
I found the problem last night and hooked the extension cord up to a live outlet, and of course to my block heater.
I came out the following day at 1 when it was considerably warmer to try it again with no luck, same sounds coming from tryint to turn it over, like running in mollasass or mud or something, please help.

Answer
Hello
,

Being from northern wi I have experienced what you are going through.

Could very well be a bad battery. I used 650 cold cranking amps at a minimum.

Could be a bad starter.

Last but not least- could be dirty or the wrong viscosity oil. If dirty, put in about a pint of kerosene into crank case. Get a oil change. You should be using 5w-30 for new oil. Change the filter too. You should not even have to plug in down to -10 below.
