Cadillac Repair: 96 Cadillac Deville., latch bolts, worse case scenario

Question
Hello, i have a 96 Sedan Deville. Today i opened my trunk with the release from inside the car, trunk worked properly. I went to close it and wouldnt latch like normal Cadillac trunks do. It wouldnt even slam shut. I tried the trunk release again and now it makes no noise, not even like trying to pop open. How can i fix this?

Answer
Hello,

There should be a trunk pull down fuse in the body side of the latch. you may have to remove the plastic cover with 2 screws to access the fuse. check the fuse.

Worse case scenario, you can adjust the 2 or 3 10 mm latch bolts on the trunk in order to make it close without the pull down. You will see slots in the latch for adjustment. If you do this, remove the fuse or disconnect the harness for the pull down.

Good Luck!
