My ignition key won't turn to start the car, 2000 Cadillac deville

Hello,

You will need to contact a local locksmith to make a new transponder key or repair the ignition lock.

Many people would call a locksmith to replace the ignition when the steering column was damaged from a theft attempt and in that case, a locksmith would charge to replace the lock and it still didn't work. The column needed to be rebuilt and have the broken mechanical linkage replaced. That was on the older vehicles and not on a 2000 Deville.

Could be a tumbler dropped out of place or is stuck. At any rate don't go to the dealer because the locksmith will come to you.
