Cadillac Repair: power steering pump leak, power steering pump, steel line

Question
QUESTION: We had to replace the power steering pump on our 93 DeVille and now we cannot get it to stop leaking.  The leak is from the connection of the return line, as soon as pressure is put to it, it bubbles out all around the connection.  We replaced the o ring twice and still the same problem.  What are we missing here?  Any help really appreciated!

ANSWER: Without actually seeing your problem it is most difficult to tell where the leak is coming from. Did you ONLY remove the small steel line or did you also loosen the larger nut that requires a larger wrench to remove the larger bolt.

QUESTION: We replaced the whole pump, so it was all the way off. It was not necessary to remove the large nut. When we put it back together it is leaking from the return line from the bottom of the pump to the tank, where the o ring goes.  It is a very small leak until you put the cap on the reservoir and then with pressure it is foaming out all around the connection where the o ring is.
The ring is the correct size and is fitting correctly, but after numerous tries, still leaking in that area.  it seems like there shouldn't be so much pressure on that return line anyway...?
Thanks for any ideas on what is causing this.

Answer
Without physically seeing this leak I really do not have any ideas at all except that possibly the pump seat where the rubber "o"-ring seats is cracked or defective or the line is cracked at the "o"-ring seat. Get a magnifyiny glass and inspect both parts very carefully.
