Mr.Painter I thank you first of all for looking at my question. I just bought 99 Seville sts, It runs great, quite, smooth, I love it. The problem is when I'm driving the car just shuts off. It will be running smoothly and just shut off. The dash cuts off and flickers for 5 to 10 seconds then turns right back on. I restart the car and drive away but don't understand it. check gas cap turned on as well as service engine soon. I had my local auto zone run the code and it came back P0440 code. I replaced the gas cap, but it shut off on me the next day. It will run fine for two days then shut off.I would appreciate any advice you have. Could relays have anything to do with the problem?

To be perfectly honest with you, your problem does not deal with my expertise. Your complaint makes me believe it is a connector problem by what you describe with the dash. Movement may be making a difference here.

Just a suggestion. Sheck the connectors at the ECM and also under the dash at the firewall bulkhead connector.
