Cadillac Repair: diagnostic codes, letter designation, cadillac sedan deville

Question
QUESTION: 94 cadillac sedan deville, over 165 k miles.  My service engine light soon comes on at times. I did a diagnostic test, and the following codes come up

81, 12, 27, 25, 22 ,80, 91, 87, 84, 97, 96, 94, 93, 139, and 136

my mechanic said with all these codes, the car shouldnt start up or run period. the car starts fine, and it drives fine, every now and then when i go past 45 miles per hr, it may start to jerk somewhat, but thats it.

they tried to clear the codes, and reset, but they couldnt.

im a little lost, maybe i should sell it, or get another car, have you heard of anything like this?

ANSWER: You can CLEAR (erase) the codes from the computer via the climate control panel.

Recheck all the codes and there should be a LETTER designation such as E pr P or some other letter with the code # such as P81 or S81.

Also as the code disoplays you will see the word HISTORY or CURRENT with EACH CODE that displays.

Tell me what codes you get and if they are current or history and then I can tell you how to CLEAR (erase ) the codes and then recheck them in order to fix the vehicle.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
