Cadillac Repair: 1995 Cadillac Seville SLS, pulse width modulation, cadillac seville sls

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1995 Cadillac Seville SLS that has a lot of intermittent problems running and sometimes shifting.  My thought is that the PCM is bad.  Is there a way to check the PCM using a multimeter and/or OBD 1 system?  Thanks.

ANSWER: First you need to tell me what problems you have and how long you have had this vehicle.

Is the CHECK ENGINE light illuminated on the dash or are you getting any messages on the information display ?.

QUESTION: Just ran car and the Traction Disabled message is on with the only code of T073 (PCM - EBTCM/EBCM Pulse Width Modulation Signal Fault-Current).  Service Engine Light is on (I assume because of T073 code).  Speedometer not working.  Car also is idling at 1000 rpm's.  When I turn key to run without starting car the fans run at high speed (even when engine is cold and hasn't been ran).  You can hear the fan relays clicking with the fans cutting on and off.

Answer
If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
