Question
hi i have a 93 caddy sts and ive been having a problem all summer, i could drive my car for an hour non stop but as soon as i shut it off it would not start . it would only run for 1 second then shut off . so i would wait2-3 hours then all went well it would run fine. now it's fall in ontario canada and for 3 days the car is doing the same thing it will run for a sec and die .and when i turn the key right off and try again the same prob. over and over again engine lights on have lots of codes only current ones arep044 and i032

please help  thanks.

Answer
P044 = Rear heated oxygen sensor is seeing a lean exhaust signal.

I032 = You have a loss of your AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM and your TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM serial line data.

What you need to do is CLEAR (erase) ALL the codes by using the climate control panel and then see which codes return.

Without performing any test procedures I would say that you have an intermittent fault in the electric fuel pump in the gas tank.

However, You SHOULD perform the test procedures FIRST.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
