QuestionQUESTION: The theft system on my 96 eldorado won't allow me to start car.I left key in ignition with driver door open while pumping gas when message was displyed when trying to start. I have no extra key and remote doesn't work. What can I do to reset system ?

Is the SECURITY light ON or FLASHING ?.

QUESTION: The drivers information is on,The check engine light is on, the messages given is..starting disabled theft system problem..,the security light is not on or flashing. I have never been promted to wait according to informtation in the OM
AnswerOK, You have a fault within the PASS_KEY security system which is caused by either:
faulty ignition key.
Faulty ignition column lock cylinder.
PASS-KET MODULE.
Wiring fault.
If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
