QuestionHi, I have a 1990 Cadillac Devile with the 4.5, I get the codes E13, E74, E98, and F48
E98 says High RPM, I do get a high rev when it goes in park, but then will go down when it goes in reverse. It also shakes foward (not too bad) when stoped in drive like it just wants to keep going. I also have a hard time of keeping within the speed limit like i have to constaly brake even though I do not hit the gas. Is there a way to fix this, clean something replace, etc. The newest happening is it shakes real bad when in reverse and drive when stopped. It also conks when low on fuel and comes back like 2-3 gallons left.What could be going on?
AnswerThe FIRST thing we need to do is CLEAR (erase) ALL the codes from the computers and see which ones come back as History or Current codes. This is very easy to do with several pictures and directives.
If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
