Cadillac Repair: 1997 Cadillac Deville Electrical System, cadillac deville, altenator

Question
QUESTION: The inside door lights flash on and off on my car. I recently had a new stereo system installed in the vehicle and it has been restarting itself regularly. I am wondering if this could be an eletrical issue. I have replaced the fuel pump, the A/C compressor, the altenator and belt and the problem still occurs. Could this issue be caused by a fault in the electrical system?

ANSWER: If you did NOT have this problem BEFORE the stereo was installed and now that you installed the stereo and now HAVE the problem, I would have to say that the fault is in the wiring of the stereo and or it was NOT wired correctly when installed.

However, It is possible that your ILLUMINATED ENTRY timer is faulty.

Do the lights flash ON and OFF all the time your driving the vehicle or please explain.

QUESTION: The interior lights do flash on and off while driving. This issue was happening before the system was installed. There was a few instances where the driver's side power window would stop working when rolled down. It eventually worked again but this was taking place before the installation of the stereo. The only lights that flicker are the door panel lights. The dash lights work perfectly. I don't know if this makes a difference but the trunk release button has quit working also.

Answer
Replace the ILLUMINATED ENTRY TIMER and see if this resolves your problem.
