QUESTION: I keep blowing the 15 amp fuse that's connected to the power steering, transmission, AC, and cruise control. (E40)
The fuse blows when I turn the wheels all the way right or left, or use the AC, or use cruise control. It blew again today when I turned on the front defogger (which is connected to the compressor. Should I replace the power steering pressure switch or do you think this is a bigger problem.

ANSWER: EXACTLY how is the fuse designated on the fuse panel ?.

What work of anykind has been performed on the vehicle lately within the last 6 months ?.

Check the 2 wires that go down to the power steering rack just under the brake booster to see if the wires are touching anything and or are damaged.

Fuse is designated as ERLS - AC compressor relay - Viscous converter clutch brake switch - EGR solenoid - Vapor cannister purge solenoid - Power steering pressure switch.
Recent work - replaced water pump - thermostat - serpentine belt.

I can provide you with simple test procedures which will require an OHM METER to see what the problem is.

Does the fuse blow as soon as you install it or do you have to drive the car for awhile before it blows.

Does the fuse blow when the engine is COLD or when it is at normal operating temperature ?.
