QuestionQUESTION: My mechanic is stumped. He replaced compressor 2 weeks ago. Did find. A/C just quit cooling. He can get compressor to work by direct wire. Has lost no freon. Can't find a relay or fuse that is out. Want's me to take to elec shop or dealer. Any way to discuss w/ him?
ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated on the dash or any other light while driving the vehicle ?.
Does your mechanic know WHERE the A/C relay is located ?.

QUESTION: No light has come on since/after the compressor was replaced. (When the compressor was bad it said freon low.)
Since quit working the change oil light came on as expected. The mechanic referred to doing some start up/re-set procedure he knew of as if compressor had been out of freon. He did check all points from the relay and switched one from his Cadi but didn't solve. If I can keep up with what he said, it was a problem on the ground line (not) going hot when the key was on. He is beyond his scope and suggests an electric shop/dealership. He could/has wired such to run all the time. This is Texas and it is summer 10 months a year. Thanks LJ
