Cadillac Repair: 91 deville door locks, e mail, test procedures

My door locks key less remote were working fine. the other day the passenger door was not closed all the way and when the car was put in drive the automatic locks tried to lock the doors and the passenger door made a noise like a stripped gear. now the doors will un-lock but will not lock using the electric lock button or the wireless remote. I can lock the doors manually. I can hear the wireless remote click under the dash when the lock button is pushed. Again the wireless remote and electric door lock button will un-lock doors but not lock them. just wondering were to start diagnosing problem. Thank You.

You will need simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
