Cadillac Repair: 1992 cadillac seville, cadillac seville, 1992 cadillac seville

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I have a 1992 cadillac seville. I have decent mechanical abilities. I am just new with cadillacs. I have two questions.
1. My front vents won't blow either heat or ac. When the ac is on the get cold and put out some cool air but they don't have much force at all. Would this be a bad blower motor?
2. I have a rattling in the front driver side wheel. When I removed the tire it seems that the disc is somewhat loose. Not incredibly loose but it has play to it. Would this be a problem with the hub? And would this be the cause of the rattling?
Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Todd

ANSWER: As to the AC. Is most of the ir coming out of the defroster vents instead of the center AC vents ?.

Without actually seeing the hub, I can't say one way or the other. Have a mechanic look at it.

QUESTION: It comes out of both but it doesn't really have much air flow it just sort of seeps out. It is the same with the heat. Also the disc on the brakes is relatively new. How would I know if it was the hub? or the disc?

ANSWER: Can you physically HEAR and or FEEL the blower motor running ?.

If you have a problem with a hub bearing with the tire mounted back on the vehicle you would be able put your hands on the top of the tire and PULL & PUSH the tire IN and OUT and it would move more than an inch back and forth.

Check this tire and then do the same with the other front tire and see if they move about the same amount.

QUESTION: No I can't hear or feel the blower motor running. And no the tire when mounted has no play to it. It does not move. The disc seems to just not fit tightly on the Hub.

Answer
IS or HAS the check engine light ever illuminated on the dash while driving the vehicle ?.

The brake disc will feel loose with the wheel nuts and tire off the hub. The lug nuts are what holds the disc tight against the hub.

Most likely the blower motor and or AC/Heater programmer has a fault.
