Cadillac Repair: antenna power motor, antenna mast, antenna assembly

My antenna was going up very well and i was having problems of it going down when i shut off the motor....had to give it a nudge and it would go down fairly well.now it wont go down -the problem i have till i get a new one is the motor is always running and im afraid of draining the battery

Answer
The internal plastic cable that raises and lowers the antenna on the inside of the antenna motor assembly has broken and the entire antenna assembly needs to be replaced.

For now you can UNPLUG the antenna and manually pull up the antenna mast until you can afford to replace it.
