Cadillac Repair: 1995 Deville Electrical and Heating Problems, cigarette lighters, twilight sentinel

Question
I have a 1995 Sedan Deville and I encounter the following Problems.

I. Electrical

1. a)If the lights are left on, with the key removed from the starter and the driver's door is open the reminding chime does not sound.
b) The chime also does not sound if the key is on the ignition and the driver's door is open.

2. The Sentinel light does not work. The lights do not go on automatically. How can I tell if I have a faulty switch or sensor?

3. All the cigarette lighters do not work. It does not give out any electricity to operate various devices (I found that out when I needed a boost and I had a battery that could charge the vehicle from the lighter).

II. Heating Problem.

Hot air does not blow out from the front vents. It does work from the defog and floor. Cool air (A/C) on the other hand works well from all vents.

Answer
1. Sounds like a faulty chime module that needs to be replaced.

2. Sounds like the twilight sentinel module is faulty. The module comes with a new sensor. Are you positive that you have NOTHING on the top of the dash that is blocking the sensor >?

3. Check the fuses to see if one is blown. The cigarette elements inside the cigarette socket are very common to shorting out and blowing the fuse. You need to replace the most commonly used element.

4. There is NOTHING wrong with the heating system as hot air is NOT supposed to blow from the center A/C vents.

You will need simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
