Cadillac Repair: 2004 Cadillac DeVille trunk release, cadillac deville, battery voltage

Hi, I just recently purchased a 2004 Cadi DeVille - the remote trunk release and trunk release on dash do not work............   any input as to what I should check ???
have checked fused, all ok, thanks

Check for battery voltage at the trunk button on the dash and while pushing the button check the other wire for battery voltage going out to the trunk unlock solenoid. If you have battery voltage on both sides of the button while depressing it. The solenoid in the trunk is most likely faulty.
