on day i noticed my wifes car very high in the rear, the next day it was at the normal height, and she said she heard a hissing sound, now the rear is lower, dOES THE AIR LEVELING SUSPENSION USUALLY GOES OUT , AND IS IT EXPENSIVE?

You either have a leak in one of the aplactic air lines, a leak in one of the struts or most likely a faulty intermittent HEIGHT SENSOR.
