Cadillac Repair: Brake Problem, cadillac seville, vacuum hose

Question
While driving yesterday I applied my brake pedal and I had to really bare down in order to stop the car. They were very hard and the pedal was up high, as happens when you get a new brake job. I have a 1988 Cadillac Seville V-8.
Thank you for any help you might give me as to my problem. Bob

Answer
Make sure that the large vacuum hose is plugged into the brake booster in back of the master cylinder. If it IS, Replace the brake booster.

You may have the TEVES brake system that does NOT have a big black brake booster in back of the master cylinder.

E-mail me some pictures of the components around the master cylinder so I can see which system you have.
