Cadillac Repair: 1998 Deville Concours electrical a/c problems, electronic leak detector, climate control system

Question
I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville Concours, last year I had a error message come on low refrig - a/c off. I took it to a guy who does the a/c stuff and he told me that because of the climate control system we would have to charge it in warmer temps possibly in the spring. I took it to him yesterday and he said that the r134 is full. He said that someone previously put dye in the system to find a leak. He said he tested the system on one side with the compressor and it shot out ice cold air. But he couldn't keep it like that because the system wasn't complete and a pressure relief would blow. So basically he tells me that it's the computers job to regulate and cycle the r134. He told me that the computer is not cycling. It still reads low coolant a/c off. Then recently I cleaned the car and sprayed the engine with engine cleaner at the cashwar and ever since then the auto lights haven't been working and actually went out last night on my way home. The lights have the auto thing and read headlamps suggested while I was driving the car, then I messed with the switch and they came on in a minute or so. Please help!!

Answer
As to the AC. You need to:

1. Completly drain out ALL the freon from the system.

2. Evacuate ALL the atmospheric air from the AC system via a vacuum pump and a set of AC gages.

3. Add 1 can of freon and check for leaks with an electronic leak detector.

4. If you find NO leaks, Recharge the system to the manufacturers specifications for the amount of freon that the system holds.

5. IF the check engine light comes ON, You need to CLEAR (erase) the codes from the computer.

As far as NOT being able to charge the system in the winter is NOT true.

As far as the headlights, First make sure that there is NOTHING on the dash board as any papers or junk on the dashboard can slide over and cover the sensor that is built within the dashboard near the defroster vent on the drivers side and or you may have a fault in the TWILIGHT SENTINEL SYSTEM.

IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the car when any of these faults occured ?.
