Cadillac Repair: 96 sedan deville, negative battery cable, air shocks

Question
are there any common problems that might cause a draw and the battery goes dead over night, i have spent about 4 hrs tring to find the draw and i am about to give up. any info would help thank you.

Answer
There are numerous things that can cause an excessive amount of draw from the battery such as trunk light, underhood light, Interior lights staying ON when they should go OUT after about 20 seconds when you exit the car. Faulty air shocks or leaks in the air shock plastic air lines or a faulty HEIGHT SENSOR all which will cause the air pump to run periodically during the night trying to keep the car level.

Put an AMP METER on the negative battery cable and see how many amps you are drawing . NORMAL amperage draw is just over 1/2 amp and this is to keep the computers memory systems intact.
