I Have A 1997 Cadillac Deville I've Had The Car For Almost 2 Years Now so Many Problems Have Occurred With My Car Some Minor Some Major But Now it Seems I Am Unable To Even Get A Clear Diagnosis On The Car. My Car Is Not Starting Up,The Car Was Starting And It Cut Off While In Motion Several Times With my Mechanic Driving,My Husband Pulled Out Of Our Parking Lot To Go To The Store And The Car Cut Off. Several Months Prior To This Specific Problem The Buttons On My Keyless Entry Were Not Working So I Tossed It,A Message Began To Appear Theft System Problem Car May Not Restart, It Would Still Start Sometimes And Then Sometimes I Would Have To Wait Three Minutes But It Always Started. The Fuel Pump Has Been Changed 3 Times Since Early February,Replaced 1 Starter Since February(I Had Already Replaced A Starter Before In January 2007),Replaced To Keys,I Just Don't Know What Else To Do I Have Had People Tell Me The Computer Located Under The Back Seat Needs To Be Replaced For $1879.00,I Have Been Told To Get Another Keyless Entry,I Have Been Told To Reset Theft System,Lock Cylinder...I Hope This Is Not Too Mumbled For You To Understand I Just Really Need Some Advice I Don't Want To Get Rid Of The Car But It Seems I Might As Well, I ve Been Without It So Long Its Like I Don't Even Have A Vehicle......

AnswerThis is a PASS-KEY system fault. Your fault is either with the:
ignition key.
ignition lock cylinder on the steering column.
pass-Key module.
Starter relay.
IS or HAS the check engine light ever illuminated on the dash ?. If it HAS, I need to know what fault codes are stored in the computer.
You will need, If necessary, Electrical schematics and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
