QUESTION: it was converted to r-134 so that is the freon they used.

Answer
You CANNOT convert an R-12 Cadillac system to R-134 freon because the low pressure sensor is NOT calibrated to be used with R-134 freon and what you are experiencing will happen every time you try and put R-134 freon in a Cadillac system which is designed designed for R-12 freon.

You have NO CHOICE but to go back to R-12 freon. As to date, There is no conversion methods available.
