Cadillac Repair: 1990 Cadillac El Dorado ABS, cadillac el dorado, professional facility

Question
I have a 90 El Dorado, when you step hard on the brake pedal hard like in a panic stop, the pedal is ROCK HARD with no slowing down. If you gently step on the pedal anticipating a slow stop, the pedal feels normal but still requires a little effort to stop. there are no codes showing up, but both the abs and the brake light come on when you press the brake hard, but not always when you press the brake slowly. This car has the master cylinder with the nitrogen accumulator and motor. Any idea where I should look to solve this problem? Thanks in advance, Gerald West

Answer
This system was and IS a disaster to work on due to it's extremly high pressures and was only used ONE YEAR because of all the problems. Fixing it is a nightmare. I recommend that you do NOT try working on it and have a professional facility do the work. However, If you want the information on fixing the system, E-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com
