Cadillac Repair: 1994 cadillac SLS, 1994 cadillac sls, rod bearing

First of all, Thank You for your time.
OK the good stuff.
I have a 1994 Cadillac SLS and it sounds like a rod bearing
is knocking. Do you know what the "Knock Sensor" does for the car and could this be the problem? I have never even heard of such thing let a lone where it is and what it does.
Any other ideas would be great.

The knock sensor  is used for minor engine pinging such as cheap gas whereas it will hear this SLIGHT pinging and adjust your timing to eliminate the noise.

If you have a loud knocking sound your probably looking at a bad bearing of ehich I would need to hear in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
