How much oil is needed when replacing the ac compressor and dryer/expansion valve on a 1976 Eldorado Convertible.  The rebuilt compressor/w clutch is R134 compatible.

Answer
Drain out the oil from the old compressor if you get MORE than 4 ounces install the same amount into the new compressor.

If you drain out LESS than 4 ounces from the old compressor, Install 6 ounces od oil into the new compressor.

Add 1 ounce to the receiver and 1 ounce to the expansion valve.


NEVER use USED oil. ALWAYS install NEW oil.
