Cadillac Repair: 2002 Cadillac Eldorado ETC, cadillac eldorado, diaphram

Question
This just started happening.  In Park or Neutral, I compress brake pedal and engine RPM increase from 1000 to 5000 RPM. May sure I was not hitting the gas pedal. In gear,appears to be operating normally, slight increase in RPM when I compress the brake.  Persons near the car really believed I was hitting the gas on purpose. I showed them I was not. Have you ever hear of this problem.  Thanks

Sure have. Check to make sure that your brake booster does not have a ruptured diaphram inside the booster. Usually you can tell by hearing a whoosshhiinngg sound inside the car when you step on the brake pedal.

as to the recall, I am NOT familiar with it.
