Cadillac Repair: cadillac, turn signal switch, light assembly

QUESTION: brakelight will not work on driver side and bulbs are all good,there is no power there but running lights work, all fuses are good,I unpluged the light assembly and checked for power and there is none on the brakelight but there is power on the running lamp wire, can you help? thank you

Tim,
Your car has a separate circuit for each side. Troubleshoot the circuit starting at the lamps and move forward. Common fail point is in the trunk just after the harness enters the trunk. Beyond that, I'd probably go back to the column and check the circuit at the base of the column where it comes out of the column (from the turn signal switch). Another common problem spot is the harness connection at the base of the column (gets loose).
