Cadillac Repair: 99 DeVille - Intermittent electronic (dig. display), intermittent faults, cadillac deville

Question
Have a 1999 Cadillac DeVille with digital display. Intermittently first the radio (with factory cassette player) turns off (also no radio display) and the antenna lowers. Then (sometimes) the instrument display will say there is a problem with the traction control, and/or airbag and/or tell me the car may not restart. Then all (but the odometer and speed) will give -- as the digits. About the same time the heater/air speed will go off, I cannot use the key fob to unlock the doors. Then sometimes an hour or two or maybe the next day it will act like nothing happened. Sometimes I thought it maybe outside temperature related (cold maybe under thirty degrees) - but that doesn't seem to be consistent - I say that because some days it is in the twenties and it runs with no problems. We have two set of keys we use for this car, not sue of that could be an issue (after searching through this website).

Answer
Intermittent faults are the hardest things to find the cause of why it is intermittent. Usually it is a temperature sensitive connection in the instrument cluster and or in one of the computers or an intermittent ground source.

About the only way to find it is to wiggle the connections at all of the components that do not work as well as at both computers to see if you can duplicate the fault.
