Cadillac Repair: Block heater, cadillac seville, weather option

Question
I have been having trouble with my 92 cadillac seville sts starting in cold weather. I was wondering what would be the best way to go when choosing a block heater or does it not matter? temps are around 20 below when it has the most trouble. Also, do i have to get a certain kind for my vehicle or is there universal type ones?

Answer
Danny,
Typically, I'd say to check the dealer for a factory type. If there was a cold weather option for your car, a factory block heater would be the best way to go. Beyond that, check out any that work by warming the engine coolant only. I don't like the ones that heat the oil. And certainly stay away from the ones that simply replace the dip-stick.
