Is there a way to reset all settings, sensors, memory back to factory default for a 2005 STS V8?

Hi Kevin,

      Using a scan tool and preferably the Tech 2 GM scan tool all codes can be cleared, some learned values like the oil life indexes for the engine and transmission can be reset to 100. Also the way you drive your car changes the way the trans shifts or trans adapts and can be reset. Also the way you drive changes how much fuel is used or fuel trims as they are called which can be reset. The sensors are what they are and react to your driving...those can't be reset. If you had a computer replaced or reprogrammed usually you would not want to have it reprogrammed for the factory settings because they improved the calibrations somehow to make the vehicle work better. If you needed to have the original calibration installed it might be possible but not sure.
