Cadillac Repair: caddy, blown fuse, dumar

Question
so i had the guy who sold me the car check it out and thought that it was fuse. after looking at it he noticed a fuse blown, got another jump and it started. but not long enough to hold the idel , as the fuse busted, put in another and right as it touched it blew. tried again and same thing happened, so im now thinking that the fuse needs a better ground, but im to sure.

Answer
DuMar,
Are you sure the fuse being used is of the proper amp rating? Make suer before doing anything else. Maybe someone simply had installed the wrong fuse and it's blowing because it's not heavy enough for the circuit. A blown fuse tells you there's an excessive amperage load on the circuit. This can either be caused by a component drawing more than it should, or by a short circuit. You'll need to identify the circuit, and investigate the wiring and components on that circuit to see what's causing the fuse to blow.
Word of warning to you, DO NOT try to increase the fuse to a larger one than is supposed to be used. This can cause a fire and/or severe damage to anything on the protected circuit.
