Question
When starting the the vehicle, the it starts off with a clicking/ticking/knocking sound while idling. After it worms up it goes away. Its seems like the noise is coming from the firewall side of the engine. It has new oil/filter. which filter is recommended from Fram with drain back valve or without.

Thank you for your time.

Answer
The manufacturer recommends an AC Delco # 45 filter.

As to the noise, if you have a plastic flywheel cover they tend to warp when it is cold and as the engine warms up it flexs back to it's original shape.

When it is cold it tends to contact the flywheel and makes this type of noise.
