Cadillac Repair: 2001 Cadillac torque converter light on, torque converter, vehicl

Torque converter light on.  One Dealer says will cost $1,200.00 to fix and make light go off.  Another dealer said go ahead and drive and will not harm anything.  I'm trying to sell car.  Have lost one buyer because of light.  Is there any other alternative?

Answer
The reason that the light is ON and will remain ON is until you replace the TORQUE CONVERTER SOLENOID behind the side cover of the transmission.

The vehicl will NOT have any overdrive gear until this is fixed and it is NOT recommended that you just ignore this fault.
