Cadillac Repair: 2001 Cadillac Seville, cadillac seville, uncommon problem

Question
The car had been running fine, but when I went out to start it  the dash lights and everything were working but the engine did absolutely nothing when the key was turned. I had just driven it half an hour before and it ran great.

Are you sure the car's in "PARK"? If so, try moving the shifter around between gears while trying to start it. Beyond that, you may have a bad starter. Let the car sit long enough to have the starter cool off. If it starts then, look at the starter as the problem. Not an uncommon problem actually. Starters may sometimes exhibit a no-start condition when hot but work fine once cooled off. In this case, replace the starter.
