Cadillac Repair: 90 deville, fuel pressure regulator, crank case

hi , for the last 2 wks i hv been smelling gas in my car really bad when i turn on heat. 2nd my car as been eating up gas really bad within these 2wks. 3rd i hv start 2 see some white smoke but not all the time. plz help. i had 3 mech lookk at it they said there was no leak so what is wrong ?

There's a leak alright, they just haven't found it yet. Check out the vapor canister. If the purge system malfunctions, it'll just keep flooding the canister, and then the engine sucks all the raw fuel in via the vacuum line hooked to it. Other than that, check the fuel pressure regulator, and finally, the crank case. If the engine is over-fueling and/or leaking down after shut-down, the crank case could be filling up with raw fuel. VERY bad thing since it seriously degrades the oil's ability to lubricate, and can even cause a bearing failure.
