Cadillac Repair: 1993 Cadillac STS Power door lock problem, cadillac sts, service bulletins

Question
Door locks cycle while driving. Can you suggest the most logical causes for this problem?  Do you know where I can get a copy of the wiring diagram for the power door lock on a 1993 Cadillac STS?

Answer
Hi Otis,

To get the best wiring diagrams you could go to autozone.com or alldata.com and subscribe to a 1 year subscription for your car with All Data. You will have all the info needed available at your computer that can be printed out and taken to the car. Another benefit would be service bulletins. There might even be one that addresses your problem.

For the locks to cycle could mean that a door lock switch on a door is closed/pushed. The lock module is defective and it would be important to know if the car has a factory remote or aftermarket keyless remote system. The button on a remote could be sticking. Or the relay could be defective.

You are right in that having a wiring diagram and then unplugging things on the circuit until the locks stop cycling is the way to fix this problem. And it requires someone to test things on the car. Good luck, Bill
