Cadillac Repair: Body work, paintless dent repair, minor dents

Question
I have a 96' STS and it has a few dime sized indentations. I was quoted $150 but I was told if you just put dry ice to them  I will have the same outcome that the body shop would give me. What do you know about this trick? Is it worth trying?

Answer
James,
Nope, you're wasting your time. Thermal cycling the sheet metal CAN minimize or even eliminate some dents but they are only "certain" dents that are very soft, smooth dents.
If you want to fix minor dents etc. as cheaply as possible, contact your nearest dealership and ask them for the number of their paintless dent repair guy. EVERY dealership uses one, believe me. Most of these guys will fix dents on a "per panel" basis, so it's relatively cheap. At the very least, they'll give you a straight-forward appraisal of the damage.
You can also find guys on the web by doing a Google search for "paintless dent repair" or "dent wizard". That kind of stuff.
