Cadillac Repair: 1992 seville fuel pump, fuel pump relay, terminal points

Question
i think i have a bad fuel pump , is there a way to override or jumper the fuel pump relay to force the pump to run ?
i have located the fuel pump relay and have the terminal points but i do not want to jumper without further advise.

It's easier to put a voltage meter on the fuel pump itself. Than, have someone try to start the car.

If the needle doesn't pop right up to 12 volts, either the fuel pump is bad, or the wiring leading to it has a fault in it.

If you 'jump' the relay, you could end up shorting out both.
